Yeah, protagonists modern in chinese anime usually have weird values similar to real-world "gangstaz from da hood" - where it is OK to kill for the insult and in general shown as norm where the most powerful can dictate his will to anyone.
This are in certain contrast to the chinese movies, which I guess have some sort of censorship committee which would not approve filming of such work.
